AI Transparency Notice

This notice explains how the Langust app uses artificial intelligence, as transparency information under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the "AI Act") and for anyone who wants to understand what the AI features do.

1. Where the app uses AI

Example-sentence generation. When you request an example for a word or phrase, the app sends your input and your generation settings (target language, tone, length) to a large language model, which generates the example. The output is machine-generated content.
Translation. Text you choose to translate is processed by the same general-purpose AI model provider as the example generation.

The AI features run only when you actively request them. The app does not use AI to profile you, to make decisions about you, to recognise emotions, or to generate content involving real people's likenesses or voices. There is no open-ended AI chat or companion in the app.

2. Which systems are behind it

AI requests are routed through our own service to third-party general-purpose AI model providers (currently Mistral AI, model family: Mistral Small). Your requests are subject to those providers' terms and retention policies; see the Privacy Policy for the data-protection details.

3. Limitations you should know about

Generated examples and translations can be wrong, unidiomatic, or misleading. They are learning aids, not verified teaching material.
The model does not know your personal context; do not enter sensitive personal information into AI input fields.
Content is generated per request and is not reviewed by a human before you see it.

4. Our role and classification

SevenCourts GmbH deploys these AI features as part of the app. Based on our assessment, the app's AI features fall into the limited-risk / transparency category of the AI Act: they generate text on request and do not fall under any high-risk use case listed in Annex III. We meet the corresponding transparency obligation through this notice and through the app itself: AI generation only runs when you explicitly request it, so it is always apparent that the resulting content is machine-generated.
